Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Entin Zulu!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zulu tries for a takedown but Coffey circles away easily
letting Coffey counter with a right hand.
A nice combination there by Zulu.


It looks like Gary Coffey has been cut.
Coffey avoids the body shot from Zulu.
Zulu lands a nice hook to Coffey's body. Coffey takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Coffey moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
A right-left combo lands from Zulu.

and Coffey counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Zulu is wriggling around but Coffey manages to pass to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Still in half guard, Coffey seems content to control.
Coffey has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Zulu throws a right hand that Coffey ducks under and follows up with a left that Coffey also avoids with ease.

Zulu takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

and Zulu is countered with a crisp right hand from Coffey that sends him to the canvas! Coffey follows him to the mat into side control.
Zulu is still in real trouble! Can Coffey finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Zulu is working to avoid the ground and pound but Coffey connects with a decent elbow.
Coffey in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Coffey is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Zulu will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Coffey looks up at the clock and then as Zulu takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Coffey smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The referee asks Coffey politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Coffey prefers to stall for the moment though.

Coffey is putting a hurting on Zulu here, landing some big shots from side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Zulu is looking to get back to his feet here but Coffey is keeping cool and he's managed to take Zulu's back.

Zulu is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Coffey.

Zulu misses with a few strikes there.
Zulu moves into range and connects with a jab.
Zulu throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Coffey counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Coffey lands a stunning uppercut that sends Zulu to the mat!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Zulu pushes Coffey off looking to stand but Coffey dives back in and keeps control.

Gary Coffey overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Coffey's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
