The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Whitersson jabs Melcher right on the nose. Melcher blinks but takes it well.

Melcher goes for a double leg but O Whitersson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as O Whitersson continues to drive forward.

Melcher shoots for a double leg takedown but O Whitersson sprawls well. He's pushed Melcher's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Melcher. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A relieved looking Whitey O Whitersson thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Jon Melcher spoke after the fight, saying 'We tried. We failed. I guess it's back to the ol' drawing board!'.
