Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lowell Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Lugg!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Ben Hemmingworth and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dixon closes the distance and pushes Lugg back into the cage.

Lugg gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Dixon regains guard.
Dixon wants to stand and escape but Lugg is having none of it.
Lugg passes Dixon's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Dixon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Lugg isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Dixon stacks Lugg on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Dixon!

Lugg drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dixon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dixon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dixon!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
