Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Danny Ericson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jesse Wing!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wing tries for a takedown but Ericson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ericson scores with a leg kick.
Ericson stuffs the takedown attempt from Wing. Wing gets slowly back to his feet.

Ericson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ericson tries to score with some ground and pound. Wing controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wing wants to control but Ericson postures up.

Ericson decides to stand back up.

Ericson rushes Wing and presses him up against the cage.

Wing goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Ericson turns into him and now he's in Wing's guard.

Ericson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Wing sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Wing pushes Ericson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ericson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Ericson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wing knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ericson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Wing gets caught flat footed, as Ericson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Ericson stands and throws Wing's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Wing tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ericson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Wing tries to clinch up

and Ericson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Wing tries a knee to the head but Ericson blocks it.

Ericson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wing throws the kick towards the body but Ericson avoids it.
Ericson shoots for a double leg takedown but Wing sprawls well. He's pushed Ericson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wing looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ericson is one step ahead there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Wing is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Ericson decides to pull guard.
Wing wants to control from the top but Ericson keeps moving.
Wing is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Ericson is pulling down on Wing's head. It's preventing any offense from Wing, at least for the moment.
Ericson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Ericson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wing gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ericson controls Wing momentarily but Wing frees himself.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Wing's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Ericson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Ericson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Wing has his foot on Ericson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ericson works his way back into a safe position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ericson wants to take a breather but Wing is having none of it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Wing closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Wing stands up and beckons Ericson to his feet.

Ericson looks to score with a jab to the body but Wing is just out of range.

and Ericson counters with a single leg into guard. Wing didn't expect that.
Wing is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Ericson pushes Wing off but Wing dives into side control.
