With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Derk Furkinson!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blankenship stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Blankenship wants it to stay on the feet.
Furkinson shoots and misses

and Blankenship counters by moving into the clinch.

Furkinson wants to stall.

Blankenship manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Furkinson passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Furkinson is trying to get an arm triangle but Blankenship is defending well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Furkinson working for a guillotine from mount but Blankenship is in no mood to give up.
Blankenship is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Blankenship knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Furkinson on the ground.

Blankenship is squirming around, avoiding Furkinson's attempts to control the action.

Furkinson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Blankenship is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Blankenship and Furkinson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Furkinson wants to control but Blankenship is keeping him busy.
Blankenship striking from the bottom but nothing landed.

Furkinson prevents Blankenship from escaping the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Blankenship is trying to control Furkinson's posture but Furkinson avoids it.

Furkinson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Blankenship is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Furkinson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Blankenship is trying to get back to half guard.

Blankenship explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Furkinson uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.


It looks like Kelvin Blankenship has been cut.
Blankenship slaps away a takedown attempt from Furkinson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kelvin Blankenship has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derk Furkinson.
Furkinson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Furkinson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Blankenship is trying to defend but Furkinson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Furkinson has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Blankenship should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Furkinson has tightened it up now! Blankenship should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
