The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaboof tries to clinch up.
And Alexander tries to counter it with a takedown but Shaboof pushes his down on his head and steps out.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alexander has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Shaboof has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
I would not like to be Shaboof right now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
It looks like Alexander might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Alexander seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Let's hope that Alexander has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Shaboof controls Alexander momentarily but Alexander frees himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Alexander is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Alexander swats away the attempt to clinch by Shaboof.
Shaboof tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Alexander manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Alexander can do anything to dispel that myth.

Shaboof thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Alexander is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Shaboof wants to stand but Alexander is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Shaboof is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Shaboof shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Alexander sprawls well. Alexander wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shaboof gets slowly back to his feet.
Shaboof sets himself, and Alexander steps forward looking for the clinch! Shaboof avoids it this time.
Timu Shaboof has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
DeShaun Alexander is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Alexander has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
