Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michal David (ranked 7978 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Simmons (ranked 5839 p4p, 0 weight class). Ben Simmons will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons lands with a thumping leg kick.
Simmons fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Simmons feints and then cracks David's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow David down.
Simmons thuds his shin into the meat of David's side.

David drives through with a takedown into guard.
David controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

David cracks Simmons with a solid left hand.
David might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

David keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Simmons's head.

David works a leg free and moves into half guard.
David prevents Simmons from improving his position.

David stands up and beckons Simmons to join him on the feet.
Simmons connects with a solid leg kick.
Simmons throws a quick inside leg kick.
David stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Simmons.
David has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Simmons.
David on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Simmons. Simmons obviously looking to wear him down.
David takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Simmons lands with a thumping leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A nice inside leg kick there by Simmons. That's going to slow David down.

David closes the distance and clinches.
Simmons wants to get back to striking at distance but David won't allow it.

Simmons pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Simmons turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

David closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Simmons is looking for a sweep.
David controlling from side mount.
David seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Simmons for as long as he can get away with.

David continues to stall.

David decides to take the fight back to the feet.

David shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Simmons napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee asks David politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. David prefers to stall for the moment though.
David has control of an arm but Simmons manages to advance to David's back!

David manages to escape to his feet.
David tries to work over Simmons's front leg with a kick but Simmons checks it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
David misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Simmons moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Simmons is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

David looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Simmons!
A lull in the action here as David stalls from top position.

David is working to tighten his grip on Simmons's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Simmons has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but David is really squeezing tight and eventually Simmons passes out! David breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
