PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lino Gregorio (ranked 2821 p4p, 300 weight class) and Frank De Bruyne (ranked 9502 p4p, 636 weight class). De Bruyne comes into a darkened arena with his song building. ScHoolboy Q - Man Of The Year kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gregorio ducks under a wild hook from De Bruyne.
Gregorio drops down looking for a counter takedown but De Bruyne sprawls and moves away.
De Bruyne works Gregorio's body with a nice hook.

De Bruyne manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gregorio on his heels. He'll look to pass Gregorio's guard now, I'm sure.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gregorio is adopting a defensive guard.
Gregorio's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gregorio is on top in guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if De Bruyne can do anything to dispel that myth.

Gregorio seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gregorio working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Gregorio is taking a breather. De Bruyne says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
