Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Smith (ranked 4068 p4p, 413 weight class) and Tony Abbot (ranked 3577 p4p, 371 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abbot looks for a takedown but Smith sprawls well.

Abbot swings around for an armbar but Smith sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Abbot's guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Smith lands a nice short elbow.
Abbot has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Smith is working away from the top position though.
Abbot is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Smith's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Smith's back!

Smith throws a jab but it's blocked by Abbot.
Smith dives in for a single leg takedown but Abbot sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Smith misses with a low kick as Abbot jumps back.
Smith throws a right hand that Abbot ducks under and follows up with a left that Abbot also avoids with ease.
Abbot throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Abbot's jab looks to have found its range, popping Smith under the eye.

Smith moves out of range as Abbot strikes.
Abbot throws a series of punches but Smith avoids them all with ease.

Smith goes for a double leg but Abbot avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Abbot continues to drive forward.

It looks like Johnny Smith has been cut.

A jab from Abbot does it's job there.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Smith, as that shot connected.

Abbot lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Abbot.
Smith will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Abbot uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Smith.

After the fight, Johnny Smith was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
