Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Navorro Bowman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chase is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by All the Above - Maino. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Navorro Bowman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Chase!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bowman scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Bowman working the ground and pound from side control.
Chase can't do much from the bottom here.
Chase gets back to half guard.
Chase desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Bowman misses with a head shot. Chase uses the momentum to regain guard.
Chase is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Bowman is working Chase over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Chase is looking for a triangle but Bowman pushes his legs off easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Bowman stands up over Chase, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Chase lands with a heel strike from the guard.
Bowman with a flurry of punches that miss.
Chase is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Chase is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bowman is controlling him.

Chase not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Chase has momentary wrist control but Bowman slips an elbow through the middle.

Bowman drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Chase manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bowman has Chase in his guard.
Chase thows a big elbow that misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bowman keeping moving, preventing Chase from controlling successfully.
Bowman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chase is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Navorro Bowman dominated that round.
That's time! Bowman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Bowman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bowman fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Chase.

Chase shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Chase showed some decent athleticism there.
Bowman throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Bowman is looking for a sweep. Chase is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Bowman tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Chase is trying to control. Bowman wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Chase is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bowman sees it coming and defends easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bowman gets back to full guard.
Bowman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Chase's guard.

Chase has his foot on Bowman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bowman works his way back into a safe position though.
Bowman content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Bowman loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Chase is trying to keep Bowman in close.

Chase is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Bowman missing with punches from the bottom.
Chase wants to get back to his feet.
Bowman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bowman throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Bowman moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Bowman throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Chase looking to sit in guard and control but Bowman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Chase trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Chase looking to control.
Bowman preventing the sweep.
Chase controls Bowman momentarily but Bowman frees himself.
Bowman keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Chase's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Chase throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Bowman trying to control but Chase is working from the bottom.
Bowman postures up and lands a big shot to Chase's brow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Navorro Bowman will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Chase bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bowman tries to improve position but can't.
Bowman avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Chase.
Chase is looking to take a break and control but Bowman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Chase avoids the strikes from the bottom by Bowman.
Bowman is not content to let Chase control the position.
Bowman is looking for a sweep.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bowman is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Chase off and has taken his back!
Chase takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Chase is trying to break free.
Chase wants to control his opponent's hands but Bowman gets his hands free.
Chase is trying to stand back up.
Bowman is riding his opponent, not letting Chase buck him off.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bowman is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Chase. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Bowman lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Chase.
Navorro Bowman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bowman gets his hands free as Chase looks to control.
Chase is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Bowman punishes Chase with strikes from the back mount.
Can Chase hold on?! Bowman is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

Chase is having to fend off submission attempts from Bowman, who is looking to sink in the choke. Bowman doesn't have the hooks in though and Chase manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Chase would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Chase looking to pass the guard.
Bowman looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well Bowman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
