PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Khabib Nurma Jr (ranked 2454 p4p, 300 weight class) and Max Slaughter (ranked 3353 p4p, 387 weight class). Slaughter has chosen Bring your Daughter to the Slaughter - Iron Maiden as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Khabib Nurma Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Slaughter!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slaughter keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Nurma Jr.

Slaughter decides to pull guard.
Slaughter wants to sweep but no luck.
Slaughter keeping moving, preventing Nurma Jr from controlling successfully.
Slaughter trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slaughter wants to sweep here but Nurma Jr controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nurma Jr knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Slaughter on the ground.

Nurma Jr leaves Slaughter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Max Slaughter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Nurma Jr ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Slaughter moves away.
And Slaughter tries to counter it with a takedown but Nurma Jr pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Slaughter closes the distance and pushes Nurma Jr back into the cage.

You can see the frustration on Nurma Jr's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

An out of breath Max Slaughter thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
