The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zaniels fails with a takedown attempt.
Zaniels shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Johnson scores a takedown into full mount!
Johnson scoring with strikes but Zaniels is staying in there.

Johnson looking for a guillotine from mount but Zaniels is having none of it.
Johnson prevents Zaniels from getting the reversal.

Johnson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Zaniels has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Zaniels!
Zaniels stands and throws Johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Johnson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Zaniels passes to full mount!

Zaniels is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Johnson has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Johnson wants to control but Zaniels is having none of it.

Zaniels goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Johnson is on top in guard.
Johnson wants to pass the guard but Zaniels is keeping the position.

Zaniels is looking for a triangle but Johnson pushes his legs off easily.
Zaniels looks gassed!

Johnson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Johnson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Zaniels looking to hit a scissor sweep but Johnson is one step ahead there.
Zaniels trying to keep a closed guard but Johnson is proving a slippery customer.
Johnson pushing down on Zaniels's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Zaniels tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Johnson has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Johnson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Zaniels can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Zaniels tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Johnson is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Zaniels is in real trouble.

Johnson doesn't have the hooks in and Zaniels manages to turn into his guard.

Johnson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Johnson looking to control but Zaniels is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
