And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Talley fails with a takedown attempt.

Mercury rushes Talley and presses him up against the cage.

Mercury is trying to trip Talley. He has hold of a leg but Talley is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Mercury persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Talley enables Mercury to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Talley manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mercury fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Talley.

Mercury looks for the body kick but Talley saw that one coming.

Talley tries to counter by clinching up but Mercury breaks away and moves out of range.

Talley has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Mercury is on him like a limpet, forcing Talley back against the cage.

Talley gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Mercury gets control of Talley's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mercury will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Talley lands a nice short elbow.

Mercury pushes Talley off and gets back to his feet.
Mercury leaves Talley with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Talley throws a right hand that Mercury ducks under and follows up with a left that Mercury also avoids with ease.

Mercury escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Mercury closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Scott Talley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Mercury is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Mercury wants to pass the guard but Talley is defending well.
Mercury prevents Talley from improving his position.
Talley keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Talley is trying to maintain the position but Mercury is very close to passing his half guard.

Mercury stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Mercury shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Talley's guard.

Talley is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Mercury presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Talley has taken the fight to the clinch.

Mercury has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Talley has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Mercury gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Talley regains guard.
Mercury stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Talley swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Talley wants to sweep here but Mercury controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Talley is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mercury is looking to control Talley's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mercury avoid being mounted?
Mercury takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Mercury wants to stand back up but Talley manages to pass into side control.

Talley misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Talley working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Mercury really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Talley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Talley gets to mount! Mercury was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mercury is desperately trying to improve his position but Talley has a good base and remains in mount.

Talley has hold of Mercury's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mercury manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Mercury is trying to get back to his feet but Talley has full control of the position and if anything, Mercury has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Talley is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Mercury with him. Mercury is trying to defend but Talley has an arm under the chin now! Mercury grimaces and is forced to tap out!
