Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sandayu Momochi (ranked 1025 p4p, 151 weight class) and Evan Better (ranked 1013 p4p, 146 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Better's choice of entrance music: Mother by Danzig. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sandayu Momochi !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 23 - 0, fighting out of New York, Evan Better!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Better bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Momochi misses the jab.
Better scores with a decent looking hook.
Better misses the shot to the body.
Better dives in and grabs Momochi 's left leg, looking for a takedown. Momochi pushes down on Better's head and hops out.
Momochi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Better tries to avoid it but Momochi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Better to the ground. Better escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Momochi misses with a jab, cross combination.
Momochi blocks the body kick.
Momochi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Better throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Momochi moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Better has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Better ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Sandayu Momochi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Momochi shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Better's guard.
Better wants to hit a switch here but Momochi passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Better there!
Better keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Momochi has control of Better's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Better regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Momochi is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Better has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Better wants to hold on but Momochi pushes him away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Momochi is nestled in close to Better, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Well, if Momochi is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Momochi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Better is just riding it out for now. Momochi eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Momochi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Momochi seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Better is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
