The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boson lands a jab-cross combination.
Buchanan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've been hearing good reports from Boson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Boson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Boson is pushing Buchanan's head away, looking to escape. Buchanan manages to hold on to the position though.

Buchanan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Paul Buchanan!
After winning the bout, Paul Buchanan thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
The defeated Higgs Boson had this to say: 'Thank you to all the fans here tonight, I love you all!'.
