Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Miroslav Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johannes Peura!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker misses with a hook
and Peura counters with a nice uppercut.
Walker takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Peura throws out a loose jab but Walker uses good head movement to avoid it.
Walker tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Peura defends well and Walker ends up having to push Peura into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Peura blocks a head kick by Walker.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Peura enables Walker to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Peura manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Walker's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Peura is looking to stand up but Walker isn't so interested in that idea.
Walker advances to half guard.
Walker lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Peura wants to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walker with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Peura wants to stand back up but Walker manages to pass into side control.

Walker remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Walker's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Walker is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Peura knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Walker tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Walker has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Walker seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Peura for as long as he can get away with.
Peura is pushing Walker's head away, looking to escape. Walker manages to hold on to the position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Peura tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Walker gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Walker shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Peura scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Walker manages to mount him!
Walker content just to control the position here.
Walker lands a nice shot to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Peura is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Peura is rocked!

Peura defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Walker.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miroslav Walker dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Walker lands a huge takedown. Peura is out but the ref is slow to react and Walker lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Peura lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Miroslav Walker!
