PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Igor Krovchensky (ranked 5578 p4p, 562 weight class) and Vercingetorix Frenchy (ranked 5243 p4p, 543 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frenchy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Krovchensky moves away.
Frenchy tries to clinch but Krovchensky moves out of range.
Krovchensky is looking to counter the offense by Frenchy and move into the clinch.
Frenchy misses with the combination.
Frenchy throws a right and a left that Krovchensky avoids nicely.

Frenchy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Krovchensky swats him away and circles back towards the center.

I was talking to Krovchensky's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Frenchy has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
