Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Urubu Rei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stan Hayes!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hayes closes the distance and pushes Rei back into the cage.
Hayes keeps control of Rei as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Rei wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Rei breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hayes lands a two punch combo.
Rei looks to clinch

and Hayes counters by clinching up.

Rei breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hayes tries to keep at a distance but Rei has taken the fight into the clinch.

Rei escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hayes doesn't manage to clinch there - Rei circles away.
Hayes lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Rei at a distance.
An inside leg kick lands from Hayes.
Rei pulls out of a head kick attempt.

and Hayes counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Hayes clinches with his opponent.

Rei escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Rei gets caught flat footed, as Hayes shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hayes postures up.
Hayes throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Hayes pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rei is keeping the position for now.

Rei is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hayes is controlling him.
Hayes looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rei is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hayes wants to control from the top but Rei keeps moving.
Hayes stays in close to Rei's body and controls the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rei misses the jab.
Urubu Rei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hayes moves into the clinch.
Rei throws a head punch that misses.
Rei prevents Hayes from breaking the clinch.
Hayes has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rei is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Rei is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hayes gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Rei pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rei misses with a combination
and Hayes counters with a left to the body.
Rei is breathing heavily.

Hayes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Hayes working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Rei's head.
Rei will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hayes wants to control from the top but Rei keeps moving.
Hayes looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hayes pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rei is keeping the position for now.

Hayes gets to his feet. Rei looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Rei throws a combination that misses

so Hayes counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Hayes content to stall in guard here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hayes wants to control from the top but Rei keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stan Hayes dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hayes.

Hayes forces Rei back against the cage and clinches.

Rei breaks from the clinch.
Rei tries to clinch
and Hayes counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Rei tries for a takedown but Hayes circles away easily
and Hayes counters with a slapping leg kick.

Urubu Rei is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hayes drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hayes thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hayes trying to control but Rei is working from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hayes gets to his feet. Rei looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Hayes gets the takedown into side control.
Hayes tries to advance to mount but can't.
Hayes controlling from side mount.
Hayes tries to score with some ground and pound. Rei controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Hayes is looking to take a break and control but Rei is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hayes is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Rei will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Rei is not content to let Hayes control the position.
Rei on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rei tries to get out of the position.

Hayes in side control lands a decent elbow.

Hayes stands up.
Hayes throws a combination. Rei tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Hayes shoots in and bounces Rei off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Hayes stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Hayes closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Hayes feints and as Rei raises his hands in defense, Hayes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hayes with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hayes controlling from the top position.
Hayes wants to control from the top but Rei keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stan Hayes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Hayes moves into the clinch successfully.
Hayes is pushing Rei up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Hayes gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Hayes slows the pace down in half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Despite being in the dominant position, Stan Hayes just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hayes shoots in but Rei avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rei gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Hayes counter with a right hand.
Hayes defending well as Rei loads up on a big left hand.
Hayes misses with a takedown attempt - Rei sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Hayes gets to his feet - Rei follows without any prompting.
Rei doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hayes counters with a big head kick but Rei shrugs it off.
Hayes tries for a takedown but Rei sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Urubu Rei has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stan Hayes.
Hayes moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Hayes clinches up with Rei and pushes him back against the cage.
Rei is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Hayes is looking to break free of the clinch but Rei has double underhooks.

Hayes gets control of Rei's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hayes will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Hayes seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Hayes should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Hayes wants to get back to his feet but Rei is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hayes is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rei wants to stand and escape but instead Hayes has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hayes trying to control but Rei is working from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hayes closes the distance and clinches up with Rei, looking for a takedown. Hayes pushes Rei against the cage but Rei circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Urubu Rei has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stan Hayes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Hayes scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Stan Hayes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hayes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
