Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stephan Letter (ranked 2179 p4p, 284 weight class) and Everton Carvalho (ranked 1708 p4p, 230 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Stephan Letter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Everton Carvalho!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Joseph Jones and John Roberts.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho fails with the takedown.
Letter lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

It looks like Everton Carvalho has been cut.
Carvalho is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Letter.
Letter scores with the left hand. Carvalho knows he should have avoided that one.
Carvalho tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Letter manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Letter lands with an overhand left.
Carvalho takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Carvalho is rocked!

That has opened up Everton Carvalho's cut even more.

Carvalho closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Letter's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Carvalho drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Carvalho jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Carvalho trying to control the position from guard on top but Letter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Carvalho tries to free his leg and advance position but Letter is retaining full guard.

Carvalho wants to control from the top but Letter keeps moving.
Carvalho wants to pass the guard but Letter is keeping the position.
Carvalho trying to control but Letter is working from the bottom.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Carvalho pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Letter is keeping the position for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Carvalho uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Letter.
Letter lands with a hook. Carvalho tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
A head kick misses from Carvalho.
Carvalho takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carvalho misses with a takedown
and Letter counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Carvalho thinking.
Carvalho wants to clinch
and Letter counters with a straight right hand.
Carvalho has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Letter throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Carvalho on the side of the head.

The cut above Everton Carvalho's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Carvalho tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Letter defends well and Carvalho ends up having to push Letter into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Stephan Letter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Everton Carvalho.
Carvalho walks into a straight right hand from Letter.
Carvalho is still on wobbly legs! Can Letter finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Letter lands a glancing blow to the side of Carvalho's head.
Letter lands an uppercut, right on the button! Carvalho tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
