Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabor Olvirsson (ranked 5918 p4p, 565 weight class) and Francis Ngannou (ranked 5201 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ngannou scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Ngannou will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Olvirsson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Olvirsson throws a shot to the body.

Gabor Olvirsson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ngannou lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ngannou throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ngannou bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ngannou uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Olvirsson has time to react.
Ngannou avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A countering left hand to the body from Ngannou misses.
Ngannou circles away from the clinch attempt.
As Olvirsson backs off Ngannou throws a huge counter combo but Olvirsson manages to avoid it all.

and Ngannou cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ngannou moves out of range of the strikes.
Ngannou throws out a counter right but Olvirsson avoids it with no problem.

Olvirsson throws the left hand but Ngannou avoids the punch easily.
Olvirsson misses with a series of wild punches.
Ngannou ducks under a wild hook from Olvirsson .
Olvirsson moves into the clinch.
Ngannou blocks an uppercut.
Ngannou breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Olvirsson misses with the combination.

Olvirsson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ngannou moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Olvirsson falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Ngannou counter with a right hand.
It looks like Gabor Olvirsson has been cut.
Olvirsson looks to score with a jab to the body but Ngannou is just out of range.
Ngannou misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Olvirsson .
Olvirsson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ngannou back to the cage. Olvirsson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Olvirsson throws a sloppy body shot
and Ngannou counters with a right hand that sends Olvirsson tumbling to the canvas! Can Ngannou finish him? He dives into Olvirsson 's guard looking to do just that!
Olvirsson is rocked!
Ngannou decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Oh Olvirsson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Olvirsson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Ngannou rattles Olvirsson with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Olvirsson tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Ngannou dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Olvirsson stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Francis Ngannou!
