PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Boris Mcpherson (ranked 5961 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alec Schlotzauer (ranked 5968 p4p, 427 weight class). Schlotzauer has chosen erase yor social as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Boris Mcpherson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alec Schlotzauer!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcpherson fails in his attempt to clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Schlotzauer.
It looked like Mcpherson was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Schlotzauer blocks a head kick by Mcpherson.
Schlotzauer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mcpherson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Schlotzauer somewhat.
Mcpherson went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mcpherson shoots in and gets a takedown into Schlotzauer's guard.
Mcpherson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Schlotzauer looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Mcpherson passes into side control.

Mcpherson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Schlotzauer for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mcpherson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcpherson throws an elbow but Schlotzauer slips to the side and avoids it well.

Schlotzauer's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Schlotzauer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Schlotzauer tries to bum rush Mcpherson with a series of wild strikes but Mcpherson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Schlotzauer misses with a takedown attempt - Mcpherson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
This is a sustained period of stalling by Mcpherson.

Schlotzauer moves into the clinch.

Schlotzauer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Schlotzauer rushes Mcpherson and presses him up against the cage.
Mcpherson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Schlotzauer gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Mcpherson tries to pull guard but Schlotzauer forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Schlotzauer is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mcpherson pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Schlotzauer tries for a takedown but Mcpherson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Boris Mcpherson.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mcpherson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
