Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryo Fukuyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Davi Dos Jaques (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryo Fukuyama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Davi Dos Jaques!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dos Jaques shoots in but Fukuyama avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Fukuyama throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
No luck for Dos Jaques with that takedown attempt.
Dos Jaques takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Dos Jaques will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

It looks like Ryo Fukuyama has been cut.
Dos Jaques tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dos Jaques pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Dos Jaques shoots in looking for a takedown. Fukuyama tries to sprawl out of it but Dos Jaques keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fukuyama manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ryo Fukuyama has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Davi Dos Jaques.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Dos Jaques throws a combination that misses
and Fukuyama counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

A bit of stalling here from Fukuyama.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Fukuyama for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

That was a close round but I would say that Ryo Fukuyama will probably get the nod.

Dos Jaques walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

and Fukuyama makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Davi Dos Jaques seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fukuyama moves into the clinch successfully.

Fukuyama is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Fukuyama looks to land a combination. Dos Jaques sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Fukuyama creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fukuyama is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Dos Jaques is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Fukuyama is really struggling to control Dos Jaques but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Fukuyama, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
