PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quetzal Montezuma (ranked 453 p4p, 48 weight class) and Roman Sionis (ranked 118 p4p, 13 weight class). Montezuma's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Mayan Predator. Roman Sionis told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sionis dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Montezuma. That did some damage!
Montezuma throws a shot to the body.

Montezuma scores with a sloppy right hand. Sionis should have avoided that one.

And Montezuma counters with a quick kick to the body but Sionis blocks it.
Sionis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Montezuma circles away quickly and effectively.

Sionis cracks Montezuma with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Montezuma moves forwards but Sionis connects with a nice, crisp jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Montezuma throws the kick towards the body but Sionis avoids it.

Sionis connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Montezuma fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sionis manages to avoid it.

Montezuma has taken the fight to the clinch.
Montezuma presses Sionis against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Sionis struggles to land a body shot inside as Montezuma controls his hands.

Sionis tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Montezuma's elbow.
Montezuma throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Sionis swings wildly with an uppercut but Montezuma uses good head movement to avoid it.

Sionis ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Sionis gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Sionis tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Montezuma is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Sionis buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Sionis!! Sionis is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Montezuma throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Quetzal Montezuma!
