The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thistlewhite shoots in looking for a takedown. Laul tries to sprawl out of it but Thistlewhite keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Laul manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Laul had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Thistlewhite defends it easily.

Laul is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
