Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bucky Henderson (ranked 4508 p4p, 504 weight class) and Ramiro Lezama (ranked 6374 p4p, 626 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bucky Henderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Ramiro Lezama!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lezama lands a jab-cross combination.


It looks like Bucky Henderson has been cut.
Henderson swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Lezama connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lezama tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lezama throws a series of punches but Henderson avoids them all with ease.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lezama enables Henderson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lezama manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Lezama working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Henderson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Henderson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Henderson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Lezama looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Henderson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lezama for as long as he can get away with.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Henderson just misses with a punch to the body.
Lezama tries to counter with a clinch but Henderson shakes him off and moves away.

and Henderson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Henderson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Henderson wants the takedown. Lezama is fighting it off but Henderson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lezama's guard against the cage.

Lezama is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Henderson defends well.

That was a close round but I would say that Bucky Henderson will probably get the nod.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
