PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Duggan (ranked 1275 p4p, 136 weight class) and Mark Kerr (ranked 711 p4p, 77 weight class). Duggan kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Five Finger Death Punch- Bad Company . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Duggan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Kerr!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duggan throws a quick inside leg kick.
Kerr throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Duggan sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Duggan ducks under a wild hook from Kerr.

A jab from Duggan finds it's way through Kerr's defenses.

Kerr changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Duggan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kerr tries to move to mount but Duggan blocks the move with his legs.
Duggan is looking to reverse the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kerr is trying to remain composed but Duggan is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

Duggan is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Duggan gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Duggan gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Duggan apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Kerr doesn't manage to clinch there - Duggan circles away.

A little jabbing left from Kerr on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Duggan connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Kerr misses with an uppercut. Duggan saw that one coming.
Kerr thows a left - swing and a miss!
Duggan gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Kerr tries to close the distance and clinch up but Duggan swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Duggan moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Kerr tries to bum rush Duggan with a series of wild strikes but Duggan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Duggan takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Duggan clinches up with Kerr and pushes him back against the cage.
Kerr is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Duggan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Kerr has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Duggan regains guard immediately.

Duggan is working Kerr over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

We've been hearing that Duggan has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Kerr is pulling down on Duggan's head. It's preventing any offense from Duggan, at least for the moment.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kerr manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Duggan manages to get himself to full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Jim Duggan will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Mark Kerr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Duggan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jim Duggan will probably get the nod.

Kerr feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Duggans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Duggan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kerr as he avoids it easily.

I would just about give that final round to Mark Kerr.
