Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sulo Leinonen (ranked 5783 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heimo Vesa (ranked 6481 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A cross from Vesa lands.
Vesa lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Vesa throws a right and a left that Leinonen avoids nicely.
Vesa moves out of range of the body kick from Leinonen.
Vesa fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Leinonen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Leinonen swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Some wild striking there from Vesa.
Leinonen throws a low kick but it's checked well by Vesa.
Despite the aggression on Vesa's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Leinonen swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Vesa.

Vesa throws a right and a left that Leinonen avoids nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Leinonen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Leinonen connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Leinonen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vesa is trying to keep Leinonen in close.
Leinonen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Leinonen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Vesa wants to stand up but Leinonen is controlling him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Leinonen's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Vesa connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Leinonen scrambles back to his feet.
Vesa scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Leinonen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A bone on bone clash there as Vesa blocks the leg kick.
Vesa unleashes a big counter combination but Leinonen bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Vesa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Leinonen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Heimo Vesa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Vesa lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Leinonen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vesa sprawls well. Vesa wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Leinonen gets slowly back to his feet.
Leinonen throws a chopping leg kick but Vesa manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Vesa misses with a double jab.
Vesa throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Leinonen has managed to clinch.
Vesa wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Leinonen has him pressed against the cage.
Leinonen has a couple of punches blocked by Vesa.
Vesa blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Leinonen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Leinonen throws a hook but Vesa blocks it.
Leinonen misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Vesa.
Vesa uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Leinonen.

Leinonen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Vesa is trying to control Leinonen's posture but Leinonen avoids it.
Vesa manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Well, if Leinonen is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Leinonen missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Vesa has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Leinonen is working away from the top position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Heimo Vesa dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Vesa throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Vesa takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Leinonen on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Leinonen misses with a body kick.
No joy there for Vesa, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vesa throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Leinonen.
Leinonen throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Vesa scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Leinonen goes for a double leg but Vesa avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vesa continues to drive forward.
Sulo Leinonen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vesa scores with a nice right hand.
Vesa checks a low kick from Leinonen.
Vesa lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Vesa sizes up Leinonen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Leinonen is rocked!
Vesa ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Oh Leinonen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vesa lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Leinonen out cold! Leinonen is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
