Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Diego Daugherty (ranked 5869 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Talent (ranked 5965 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Diego Daugherty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tim Talent!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Talent drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee asks Talent politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Talent prefers to stall for the moment though.
You can see the frustration on Daugherty's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Talent is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Daugherty will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Talent scoring with punches from side control.

Talent looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Daugherty avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Talent.

Talent working away.
Daugherty tries to buck Talent off but Talent is having none of it.
Talent landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

Talent thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Daugherty could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Talent taking a breather here.
Daugherty takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Talent is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Daugherty's shoulder. That is not cool.
Daugherty is looking to get back to his feet here but Talent is keeping cool and he's managed to take Daugherty's back.
Talent has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Daugherty is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Daugherty might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Daugherty trying to control the hands but Talent breaks the grip.
Talent gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.

Talent is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Talent looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Daugherty is controlling Talent 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Talent looking for a sweep. Not yet Talent, not yet.

Talent is pulling down on Daugherty's head. It's preventing any offense from Daugherty, at least for the moment.
Daugherty stands up out of Talent's guard for a moment - Talent manages to land a nice upkick.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The fighters are working up against the cage. Talent manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Talent pulls guard effortlessly.
Daugherty throws an elbow that misses. Talent uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Daugherty's guard. Nice move by Talent!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Talent misses with a jab to the body
and Daugherty counters with a three punch combo that has Talent backing up. Talent nods at Daugherty to acknowledge the strikes.
Talent throws a head kick but Daugherty moves out of range.

Talent pushes Daugherty up against the cage in a clinch.

Daugherty pulls Talent into guard.
Talent controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Talent gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Talent changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Daugherty looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Talent thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
A lull in the action here.
Tim Talent has got the better of the ground game so far.
Talent working the head and body with strikes.
Talent wants to control but Daugherty is keeping him busy.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Talent tries to move to mount but Daugherty blocks the move with his legs.
Talent slows the pace down.
Talent throwing strikes but Daugherty manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Talent tries to improve position but can't.
Talent misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Talent is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Daugherty's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Talent wants to get back to his feet.

Daugherty not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Daugherty is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Talent trying to control from the bottom.

Talent looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Talent misses with some strikes from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Talent pushes Daugherty off and gets back to his feet.

Talent throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Daugherty was covering up waiting for the punch and Talent finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Daugherty pushes Talent off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Talent thumps Daugherty with a low kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Tim Talent will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Talent moves into range and clinches up with Daugherty.
Talent prevents a takedown attempt there.
Talent stalling against the cage.

Talent breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Talent closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Talent lands in his opponent's guard.

Daugherty has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Talent has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Daugherty tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Talent smiles and moves away.
Tim Talent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Talent dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Daugherty darts in and clinches Talent up against the cage.
Talent gets underhooks to prevent Daugherty's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Daugherty. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Talent is trying to trip Daugherty. He has hold of a leg but Daugherty is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Talent persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Talent has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Talent gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Diego Daugherty is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Talent fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Daugherty sprawls well initially but Talent persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Talent content to control rather than advance.

Talent is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Talent stops Daugherty from getting back to his feet.

Talent seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Daugherty is looking to improve his position.
Talent content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Daugherty pushes Talent off looking to stand but Talent dives back in and keeps control.

Talent is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Still in half guard, Talent seems content to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Daugherty wants to get back to full guard.
Talent is taking a breather. Daugherty says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Talent gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

And that's the end of the fight!
Tim Talent comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Talent has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
