PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergey Beznisko (ranked 7 p4p, 2 weight class) and Ras Li Judah (ranked 87 p4p, 13 weight class). Judah has chosen Limb By Limb as his entrance music. Ras Li Judah will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Sergey Beznisko!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ras Li Judah!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Judah throws an off balance right hand
and Beznisko counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


It looks like Ras Li Judah has been cut.
Judah fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Beznisko lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Beznisko steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Judah. That one must have hurt.
Judah clobbers Beznisko with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

and Judah counters with a nice uppercut.
Sergey Beznisko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Beznisko looks to land a left hand but Judah moved out of range nicely.

Judah throws out a counter right but Beznisko avoids it with no problem.
Judah connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Judah is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Beznisko.
Judah has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

and Judah connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Judah counters with a low kick, right behind Beznisko 's knee.

Ras Li Judah is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Beznisko throws a hook but Judah avoids it easily.
Judah tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Beznisko is able to avoid easily.
Judah lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Beznisko circles away quickly and effectively.
Beznisko darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

and Beznisko decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Judah's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Beznisko makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Judah tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Beznisko in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Judah bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Beznisko's guard.

Judah looking to sit in guard and control but Beznisko gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Beznisko wants to control from the top but Judah keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Beznisko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Judah has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Beznisko has managed to get both his arms back between Judah's legs - danger averted.
Judah lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Judah passes Beznisko's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Beznisko might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Judah in particular looking to stall.
Beznisko is trying to get back to full guard.
Judah seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Judah is stalling here. Beznisko is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Judah seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Beznisko has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Judah tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Beznisko wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That was a close round but I would say that Sergey Beznisko will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Beznisko's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Beznisko ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Judah moves away.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Judah - that will leave a mark!
Judah uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Beznisko has time to react.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beznisko with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Judah to score with a decent uppercut.
Beznisko lands a nice shot that snaps Judah's head back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Beznisko bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Beznisko throws a strike but Judah rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Judah stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Beznisko swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Judah slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Beznisko controls Judah momentarily but Judah frees himself.
Beznisko is looking to sweep but instead, Judah has passed into half guard.
Judah thows a huge punch but Beznisko dodges it nicely.
Judah uses his free foot to push down on Beznisko's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Beznisko.

Beznisko wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Judah.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ras Li Judah showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Beznisko throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Beznisko scores with a jab. Judah acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Judah thows a body kick. Beznisko tries to catch it but that hurt him.

and Judah counters with a nice right hand that sends Beznisko toppling to the canvas! Beznisko scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Judah finish him?!

Judah drops Beznisko with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Beznisko! Judah dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ras Li Judah!

Ras Li Judah tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
