The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Jones shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jones showed some decent athleticism there.
Pending moves into full guard.
Pending has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Pending working for a triangle but Jones defends it easily.
Jones has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pending is proving hard to escape from.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pending looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Pending escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pending looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Pending working a defensive guard but Jones manages to pass into side control anyway.
Pending tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jones wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Pending tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Jones presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Jones lands a couple of good shots and Pending has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Jones has got one arm under Pending's chin. This could be trouble... Pending trying to control the other hand but Jones gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Pending has tapped out! The fight is over!
