The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright dives in for a single leg takedown but Owens sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Owens drops down looking for a counter takedown but Wright sprawls and moves away.

Owens scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Wright wants to control but Owens postures up.
Wright tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Owens wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Wright defending against the ground and pound.
Owens lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Wright down.
Wright is trying to control Owens's posture but Owens avoids it.
Owens looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Wright is avoiding damage well.

Owens throwing shots but Wright is blocking nicely.
Owens is pressing down on Wright's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wright is holding on for now.

Owens is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Owens can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wright is looking to escape.

Owens postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Wright is out cold - huge knockout for Owens!

Kevin Owens bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
Alex Wright spoke after the fight, saying 'When I sign a contract, I really want to give 180%. And if I can't give that, it's just not fair to the promotion and it's not fair to the fans and it's not fair to myself'.
