PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luke Withers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Honcho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Withers's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Snap your fingers snap your neck. Honcho is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: 30 Seconds to Mars- Battle of One. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luke Withers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Honcho!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, David Schapiro and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Withers keeps the fight on the outside.
Honcho shoots for a takedown but Withers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Honcho lands a with a good body shot.
Withers takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Withers swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Honcho checks the leg kick.
Honcho changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Withers tries to avoid it but Honcho manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Withers to the ground. Withers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Honcho goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Luke Withers has been cut.
Honcho throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Honcho shoots for a double leg takedown but Withers sprawls well. He's pushed Honcho's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Luke Withers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Honcho.

Honcho shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Withers decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Honcho's guard.

Honcho is looking for a triangle here but Withers uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Honcho seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Honcho punishes Withers's body with a nice straight punch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Honcho looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Withers misses with a takedown attempt - Honcho sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Honcho throws a right hand that Withers ducks under and follows up with a left that Withers also avoids with ease.

Luke Withers showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Withers, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
