Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandr Emelianenko (ranked 5593 p4p, 550 weight class) and Dan Severn (ranked 8807 p4p, 705 weight class). Severn is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dan Severn Theme. Aleksandr Emelianenko is staring across the ring at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Severn!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko blocks a head kick by Severn.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Severn avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Emelianenko.

Severn tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Severn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Severn wants to get up but he can't break Emelianenko's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Emelianenko escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Severn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Emelianenko, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
