The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant with a lazy takedown attempt
and Rodriguez counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Grant on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Rodriguez misses with the head strike.
Rodriguez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Grant uses from the top position.
Grant has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Grant controls Rodriguez momentarily but Rodriguez frees himself.
Rodriguez stands and throws Grant's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Rodriguez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rodriguez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
