PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Manny Pacman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aiden OBrian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Manny Pacman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aiden OBrian!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pacman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by OBrian.
OBrian misses with an attempted mid kick.

OBrian fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pacman, pushing him back against the cage.
Pacman wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as OBrian takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Pacman misses with the head strike.
OBrian landing some nice looking knees to the body.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for OBrian.
OBrian tries to break the clinch but Pacman is controlling the position.
OBrian wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pacman has him pressed against the cage.
Pacman with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

OBrian breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pacman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has OBrian pinned against the cage. OBrian gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pacman darts in trying to clinch
and OBrian finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
A slapping leg kick lands for OBrian.
Pacman throws a combination that misses
and OBrian makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Pacman is breathing heavily.

OBrian shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

OBrian stands up and waves to Pacman to follow him.
Horrible takedown by OBrian or perhaps it was just good defense by Pacman which made him look bad.
Pacman could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

OBrian thuds a left hand into Pacman's body.
Pacman wants to clinch
and OBrian cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Pacman closes the distance looking to clinch

and OBrian counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

OBrian manages to break the clinch.
OBrian misses with a two punch combination.

Pacman tries to keep at a distance but OBrian has taken the fight into the clinch.

OBrian escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
OBrian comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

OBrian moves into the clinch.

OBrian escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
OBrian stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
OBrian will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
OBrian works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
OBrian walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Pacman tries to clinch
and OBrian counters with a stiff right hand.
Pacman scores with a nice right hand.
Pacman misses with a wild combination.
Pacman takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Pacman is rocked!
OBrian drops his hands momentarily and Pacman takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Pacman misses with a lunging right hand
and OBrian counters with a solid body kick.
Pacman misses the jab.
Pacman wants to clinch but OBrian slips to the side

and OBrian counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
OBrian is thwarting Pacman's attempts to control the position.
OBrian working over Pacman with some ground and pound. Pacman looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
OBrian has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Pacman tries to roll over but OBrian keeps him under control.
Pacman trying to hold on to OBrian's head to control him but OBrian postures up.
Pacman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Pacman works his way to full guard. Good work.

Pacman is trying to control the position but OBrian postures up.
OBrian stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pacman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pacman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst OBrian is controlling him.
Pacman trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
OBrian lands a couple of digs.
OBrian with a nice head shot there.
OBrian prevents Pacman from getting back to his feet.

OBrian gets to his feet. Pacman looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
OBrian is looking to clinch but Pacman is avoiding it.
Pacman takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Pacman clinches but OBrian breaks the clinch
and OBrian counters with a left and a right that stings Pacman.
Oh Pacman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pacman shoots in for a takedown but OBrian shows good takedown defense.
OBrian throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Pacman counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Pacman seems to have got his legs back now.
Pacman bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps OBrian's head backwards.

OBrian is rocked!
Pacman drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks OBrian right on the button. OBrian goes down! Pacman follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Pacman gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Manny Pacman!
