Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Gracie (ranked 5736 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximus Pretorius (ranked 5901 p4p, 261 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Gracie counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Gracie looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pretorius is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.

Pretorius is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gracie is just content to waste time from the top position. Pretorius takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Pretorius can't keep his opponent in guard - Gracie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Gracie is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gracie is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Gracie can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pretorius is looking to escape.

Pretorius is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Gracie locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Pretorius is forced to tap!

After winning the bout, Rodrigo Gracie thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
