Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Young (ranked 3682 p4p, 369 weight class) and Pietro De Negri (ranked 4575 p4p, 451 weight class). Pietro De Negri has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Trevor Young!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pietro De Negri!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Young shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. De Negri manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
De Negri has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Young has passed into side control.
De Negri is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Young off and has taken his back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Young is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
De Negri gets his hands free as Young looks to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Young turns into De Negri and is now in his guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. De Negri lands a nice short elbow.
Young has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. De Negri is working away from the top position though.
De Negri winds up and cracks Young with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Young is refusing to be controlled, as De Negri sits in half guard.

De Negri is nestled in close to Young, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Well, if De Negri is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

De Negri drops back, looking for a kneebar! Young looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Young looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Young!

A close round but Pietro De Negri will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


De Negri leaves Young with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Young has one foot on De Negri's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Well De Negri has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
