Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimbo Monsoon (ranked 1352 p4p, 145 weight class) and Kim Jong Un (ranked 1541 p4p, 169 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimbo Monsoon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kim Jong Un!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monsoon's jab looks to have found its range, popping Jong Un under the eye.
Some wild striking there from Monsoon.
Jong Un misses with an attempted mid kick.
Jong Un missing with a left hand there. Monsoon was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A good leg kick by Jong Un.
Jong Un loads up on a big right hand but Monsoon slips the punch.
Monsoon thows a left - swing and a miss!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jong Un misses with a body kick.
Monsoon lands with a straight right. Jong Un didn't see that one coming.
Monsoon throws a hook but Jong Un avoids it easily.
Jong Un was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

Jong Un throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Monsoon is looking to counter punch.
Monsoon looks to score with a jab to the body but Jong Un is just out of range.
Jong Un throws a push kick but Monsoon slaps the foot to one side.
Monsoon looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Jong Un is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Monsoon drives through with a takedown into guard.
Monsoon is in close to Jong Un's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Monsoon trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Monsoon is looking to work some ground and pound but Jong Un has wrist control.

Monsoon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jong Un bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Monsoon's guard.

Monsoon is looking for a triangle but Jong Un pushes his legs off easily.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Monsoon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Jong Un working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Monsoon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jong Un controls the pace.

Monsoon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Jong Un got a little sloppy there for a moment and Monsoon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jong Un has managed to get both his arms back between Monsoon's legs - danger averted.

Monsoon is looking for a triangle but Jong Un pushes his legs off easily.

Monsoon has his foot on Jong Un's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jong Un works his way back into a safe position though.
Monsoon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jong Un controls the pace.

Monsoon throws his legs up looking for a submission but Jong Un uses it to pass to side control.
Monsoon is not content to let Jong Un control the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Monsoon is looking to regain half guard here but Jong Un keeps moving and retains side control.
Monsoon misses with a strike from the bottom.
Monsoon is trying to get back to half guard.
Monsoon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jong Un wants to take a breather but Monsoon manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Jong Un.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Monsoon cracks Jong Un with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Monsoon gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Jong Un.
Jong Un throws the left hand but Monsoon avoids the punch easily.
Monsoon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jong Un sprawls well. Jong Un wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Monsoon gets slowly back to his feet.
Jong Un feints and then cracks Monsoon's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Monsoon down.

Monsoon lands a jab to Jong Un's midsection.
Jong Un throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Jong Un misses the shot to the body.
Monsoon just misses with a punch to the body.
Jong Un steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Monsoon shoots in for a takedown but Jong Un shows good takedown defense.
Monsoon dips to his left and cracks Jong Un with an uppercut!
Monsoon throws a hook to the side of Jong Un's head but Jong Un sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Jong Un looks to land a combination. Monsoon sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Monsoon misses with a series of wild punches.
Jong Un only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Jimbo Monsoon is winning the standup battle so far.
Monsoon throws a hook but Jong Un blocks it.
Monsoon lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Jong Un fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Monsoon has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Jong Un lands with a straight right. Monsoon didn't see that one coming.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jong Un moves out of range as Monsoon strikes.
Jong Un buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A thudding body kick lands there by Jong Un!
Monsoon lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jimbo Monsoon will probably get the nod.
That's time! Monsoon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Monsoon looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Monsoon thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Monsoon throwing shots but Jong Un is blocking nicely.
Jong Un is looking to control Monsoon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jong Un avoid being mounted?

Monsoon throws a strike but Jong Un avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Monsoon drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jong Un looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jong Un looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jong Un!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jong Un is chipping away with strikes.
Monsoon sneaks back into half guard.

Monsoon misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Monsoon looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Jong Un content to control rather than advance.
Monsoon moves into full guard.
Jong Un looking to pass the guard.
Jimbo Monsoon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jong Un is stalling in the full guard.
Monsoon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jong Un is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Monsoon slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Monsoon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Monsoon not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Monsoon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jong Un can do to turn this around?
Jong Un wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jimbo Monsoon showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Monsoon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Jimbo Monsoon made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
In defeat, Kim Jong Un stepped up to the mic, saying 'I will have those judges take out at an airport!'.
