A momentary lapse in concentration from Patterson enables Witherspoon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Patterson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Witherspoon lands a left and a right that send Patterson crashing to the mat, dazed. Witherspoon thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Witherspoon moves in looking to clinch but Patterson pushes him off.
Witherspoon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
