PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Malcolm Craig (ranked 4708 p4p, 203 weight class) and Wally Backman (ranked 4778 p4p, 207 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Malcolm Craig has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Malcolm Craig seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wally Backman!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Craig takes the fight into the clinch.

Backman changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Craig fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Craig takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Backman has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Well Craig has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
