Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Valentine Coleman (ranked 5774 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Collins (ranked 7242 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Valentine Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eric Collins!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coleman drives through with a takedown into guard.
Coleman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Collins not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Coleman is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Coleman slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Coleman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Coleman drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Collins manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Coleman has Collins in his guard.

Coleman is pulling down on Collins's head to control his posture.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Collins drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Coleman dives on top into guard.

Coleman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Coleman's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Collins felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Coleman connects with a nice short shot to Collins's temple.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Coleman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Collins keeps working.

Valentine Coleman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Collins is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Coleman defends well.

Collins has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Coleman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Coleman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Collins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Coleman has managed to get both his arms back between Collins's legs - danger averted.

A close second round but Eric Collins will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Collins throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Coleman was covering up waiting for the punch and Collins finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Collins postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Coleman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Collins, into his guard.

Collins throws an elbow that misses. Coleman uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Collins's guard. Nice move by Coleman!

Collins can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Coleman controls the pace.

Coleman wanted to stand there but Collins had control of the position.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Coleman is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Collins is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Collins has his feet on Coleman's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Coleman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Collins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Coleman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Coleman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Coleman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Valentine Coleman.
Well Coleman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
