Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jean Howell (ranked 24828 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dax Baxter (ranked 5853 p4p, 262 weight class). Dax Baxter has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dax Baxter!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, John Mangel and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Baxter closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Baxter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Baxter fails with an attempt to clinch.
Baxter lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Baxter pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Baxter fails in his attempt to clinch.
Baxter throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Howell's waist but Howell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Baxter off to one side.
Howell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Howell throws a head kick that misses
and Baxter counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Baxter lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Howell fails with a takedown attempt.
Howell fails to land the takedown.
Baxter throws a right and a left that both miss.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Baxter looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Baxter connects with a nice short shot to Howell's temple.
Howell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Baxter on the ground.
Baxter is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Baxter lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Still in half guard, Baxter seems content to control.

Howell makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Baxter looks to land a combination. Howell sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Howell is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Baxter has Howell up against the cage in a clinch.
Oh Howell is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Baxter breaks the clinch.
Howell seems to have got his legs back now.

Baxter closes the distance and clinches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Baxter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Baxter uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Howell has time to react.
Baxter throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Howell crashing down! Howell tries to stagger back to his feet but Baxter just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Howell asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dax Baxter!
