Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Timmy Gregory (ranked 9343 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manel Kape (ranked 6207 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Timmy Gregory!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Manel Kape!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kape is defended easily by Gregory.
Kape will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kape drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Gregory taking a bit of punishment here - Kape scoring with strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kape misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Gregory really is a fat lump.

Gregory might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kape scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Gregory to see if he's OK.

Gregory is trying to drag Kape to the mat but Kape just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Gregory stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gregory wants it to stay on the feet.

Gregory tries to keep at a distance but Kape has taken the fight into the clinch.
Kape tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Gregory avoids it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kape darts in looking for a takedown but Gregory gets double underhooks and turns Kape into the cage.

Gregory escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kape gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gregory can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kape is looking to escape.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gregory cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Gregory fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kape shoots in looking for a takedown but Gregory manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kape's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kape shoots in for a double leg but Gregory sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kape decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Timmy Gregory is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kape closes the distance and clinches.

Gregory breaks from the clinch.
Gregory tries to clinch but Kape is having none of it.
Kape throws a counter combo.

Gregory has managed to clinch.
Gregory drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kape gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Gregory jumps into guard, dragging Kape to the mat.

Kape wants to control from the top but Gregory keeps moving.
Kape throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kape is stalling in the full guard.
Kape wants to pass the guard but Gregory is keeping the position.

Kape drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kape jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Timmy Gregory.
I think Gregory has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
