The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bourne is looking to clinch.

Cornell shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Cornell is working for a kimura but Bourne is defending it quite comfortably.
Bourne tries to get to full guard but Cornell has control of the leg.
Cornell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bourne. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cornell seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Cornell takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Cornell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bourne swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bourne will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Still in half guard, Cornell seems content to control.
Cornell is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Cornell has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bourne tries to hold on but Cornell postures up.
Cornell tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Cornell is continuing to stall.

Cornell seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Bourne is holding on tight.

Bourne defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Cornell.

Cornell is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Cornell extends the arm and Bourne is forced to tap!
