Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Artie Lange (ranked 6154 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felipe Oreiro (ranked 5985 p4p, 594 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lange enables Oreiro to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lange manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lange is on top in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lange accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Lange connects with a couple of short punches.
Lange stands up over Oreiro, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Oreiro has his foot on Lange's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lange works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Oreiro has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lange can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lange got a little sloppy there for a moment and Oreiro has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lange has managed to get both his arms back between Oreiro's legs - danger averted.

Oreiro is stalling here. Lange is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Oreiro seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Lange has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Oreiro is trying to control the action in half guard but Lange is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
