Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Murilo SIlva (ranked 4898 p4p, 512 weight class) and Ned Stark (ranked 3847 p4p, 424 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Ned Stark enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Murilo SIlva!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ned Stark!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by SIlva or perhaps it was just good defense by Stark, which made it look bad.
Stark works over SIlva's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Murilo SIlva has been cut.
Stark jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Nice defenses there by SIlva.
SIlva shoots in looking for a takedown. Stark tries to sprawl out of it but SIlva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stark manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Stark misses with a double jab.
Stark leaves SIlva with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Murilo SIlva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stark keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Stark looks to throw a body kick

and SIlva counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
SIlva wants to take a breather but Stark is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stark wants to get back to full guard.
Stark felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stark can do anything to dispel that myth.
SIlva content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
SIlva missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Stark tries to roll over but SIlva keeps him under control.

SIlva is trying to work for a kimura but Stark is defending well.
Still in half guard, SIlva seems content to control.
SIlva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stark does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
SIlva takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
SIlva moves nicely into side control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Sloppy strikes there by SIlva.
SIlva in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Stark tries to bench press SIlva off him but SIlva keeps the position.
SIlva fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The strikes coming from SIlva are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
SIlva happy to just control the position for now.
Stark can't do much from the bottom here.
SIlva takes a little break here. Stark wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
SIlva working the head with strikes.
Stark regains half guard, as SIlva was trying to land strikes.

SIlva is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
SIlva works his way into full mount!
SIlva scores with a couple of good head shots there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stark is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
SIlva takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
SIlva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
SIlva is landing with some decent strikes but Stark is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
SIlva tries to control but Stark wriggling away.

SIlva looking to isolate an arm here. Stark doesn't see it coming and as SIlva extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by SIlva!
