Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Garcia (ranked 7300 p4p, 597 weight class) and Simo Solmu (ranked 4157 p4p, 434 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Solmu walks into a straight right hand from Garcia.
Garcia swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Solmu feints the counter takedown.

Solmu shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Solmu was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Garcia is looking to regain half guard here but Solmu keeps moving and retains side control.
Solmu wants to control but Garcia is keeping him busy.

Solmu is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Garcia is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Solmu goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Garcia turns into him and now he's in Solmu's guard.

Solmu is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Garcia connects with a couple of short punches.

Solmu escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Garcia gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Solmu has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Garcia can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Garcia has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Solmu celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
