The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Keates gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Golov.
Keates rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Golov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Keates drops Golov with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Golov looks back up at him and smiles so Keates waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Golov catches Keates with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Keates with the counter takedown but Golov avoids it easily.
The crowd cheers as Golov lands an impressive looking overhand right. Keates doesn't seem phased though.

Keates is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Golov.
Golov tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Keates manages to circle out of the way.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Gendry Golov will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

A little feinted left hand from Golov on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Keates connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Golov tumbling to the canvas! Keates pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Golov was done - good stoppage!
