Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Honda Housey (ranked 3769 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Bear (ranked 4025 p4p, 0 weight class). Al Bear is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Al Bear!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Peter Branson and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Housey tries to avoid it but Bear manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Housey to the ground. Housey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Housey half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Bear dives in and grabs Housey's left leg, looking for a takedown. Housey pushes down on Bear's head and hops out.
Housey slaps away a takedown attempt from Bear, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Honda Housey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Al Bear.
Housey displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bear.
Bear dives in and grabs Housey's left leg, looking for a takedown. Housey pushes down on Bear's head and hops out.
Housey tries to counter with a takedown but Bear is quick to defend against it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Housey cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Housey's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Housey seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bear for as long as he can get away with.
