With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kaz McStafferson!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McStafferson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hammond on his heels. He'll look to pass Hammond's guard now, I'm sure.
McStafferson postures up in Hammond's guard and throws a big left but Hammond blocks it.
Hammond will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
McStafferson trying to control but Hammond is working from the bottom.
McStafferson is pushing down on Hammond's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hammond is fighting to maintain full guard but McStafferson has managed to sneak the leg through.

McStafferson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hammond defends it well.

Hammond wants to get back to his feet.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - McStafferson has eaten all the pies!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McStafferson wants to pass the guard but Hammond is defending well.

Hammond knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McStafferson on the ground.

McStafferson drops back looking for a leg! Hammond is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hammond manages to kick McStafferson off! McStafferson jumps back into Hammond's guard.

Hammond wriggles free and stands up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hammond keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Hammond tests McStafferson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Hammond's jab looks to have found its range, popping McStafferson under the eye.
McStafferson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hammond is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
An inside leg kick from McStafferson misses.
Hammond swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Hammond throws a series of punches but McStafferson moves out of range.
Hammond uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
McStafferson takes one to the side of the head.

Hammond misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McStafferson.
McStafferson shoots for a takedown but Hammond saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hammond punishes McStafferson's body with a nice straight punch.
McStafferson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Hammond connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between McStafferson's hands.
McStafferson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hammond sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Rob Hammond has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kaz McStafferson.
McStafferson looks winded!
Hammond bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of McStafferson's head.
McStafferson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hammond as he avoids it easily.
Hammond is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Hammond scores with a jab to the jaw.
Kaz McStafferson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hammond throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McStafferson.

Hammond closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops McStafferson! Hammond dives in looking to finish! McStafferson is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rob Hammond!
